Earlier this year, the Supreme Court ruled in Verizon’s favor on a case that has tremendous implications for anyone who uses the Internet regularly. The freedom you’ve had – downloading what you want, when you want and where you want, based on a reasonably priced [i.e., affordable] service, and on any device you decide to you at that moment – all of that’s going away. That is, if the incumbent telecom companies get their way.
This Prezi, which also represents Part 1 of my final for English is a synopsis of the case at this point. The FCC’s comment period ended in September. They are supposed to announce their results before the end of the year. Stay tuned; this affects us all.
